Misha Demoustier

Misha Demoustier is a Belgian dancer and musician. The last years he has been working with companies such as Ultima Vez and Voetvolk. Demoustier is cross-disciplinary. Like combining dance with music, he integrates and participates in many different medium, such as installation, film, fine and visual arts.

The coming year he will made his feature film debut in Caroline strubbe’s The Silent Treatment.

In 2021 his professional dance career started with the hit performance Into The Open by Voetvolk / Lisbeth Gruwez. It won best performance of the years multiple times, and was praised with many 5 star reviews. De Standaard called Demoustier “a revelation” for his raw performance.

In 2022, alongside his sister and Choreographer Zoë Demoustier, Misha danced and made the music with sound artist Rint Mennes for What Remains. A piece created under the Wings of Ultima Vez. This too went on to get highly praised and managed to get selected both for TAZ (Theater Aan Zee) and Het Theater Festival in the same year.

Continuing his newly found tradition of combining the music creation with performing on stage, together with Rint Mennes they created Vai Vai. Not only the name of a performance touring from 2023 till 2024, but also a title resembling the two of them them in whatever project they take on.

Demoustier doesn’t come from a dance education. He learned his ways on stage by doing. All the way back in 2008 he started his first performance called Unfold with kabinet k / Kopergitery. Quickly followed up With Everland by fABULEUS. A compagny he would for a long time be affiliated with, participating in multiple performances there. While at the same time performing with other houses such as Dox, Theatre Malpertuis, WP Zimmer, etc.

Now, Together with Zoë Demoustier, he will make two more pieces for Ultimate Vez premiering in 2025 & 2026. Slowly also exploring his directing qualities along the way.
