Pascale Platel

Pascale Platel is a writer and theatre maker. One thread runs through all her creations: that of the joy of storytelling.

Pascale started her theatre career at the side of her brother, Alain. After a few years she decided to spread her wings. In 1998 she made her breakthrough with the hilarious theatre monologue ‘De Koning van de Paprikachips’ (The King of Paprika Crisps) and immediately became the Queen of children's theatre. She has also written many remarkable plays and one-woman shows, such as ‘Gezegend Zij’ (Blessed Be), 'Deer Diana', 'Petites Pensées de Pascale', 'TGaT en de Markt', etc. She has become a regular performer, bringing theatre for young and old in her own unique way.
She feels right at home on stage, but she has also regularly appeared on TV. For instance, on ‘De Laatste Show’, ‘1000 Zonnen en Garnalen’ and as an actress in the series 'Jes'. A number of her plays were translated into French, English and German. Together with illustrator Steve Michiels she wrote 'Baby Pop and Billie Boef', a book published by Lannoo.
