Tister Ikomo

Tister Ikomo was born in Kinshasa to a family of musicians and dancers.
His mother taught him to dance, his father taught him percussion, himself a musician in several traditional music groups. At the age of 10, he joined Ballet Arumbaya, where he also learned to sing and after a few years became assistant choreographer.
In 2014, he came to Belgium to collaborate with Alain Platel and Fabrizio Cassol on Coup Fatal (les ballets C de la B & KVS), which became a worldwide success. As a choreographer, Tister created the performance Où allons-nous? (2017) with the group Furaya. In 2018, he collaborated with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui as percussionist in Mea Culpa (Opera Ballet Vlaanderen).

Meanwhile, Tister founded his own music group, TANO, in 2017, and in 2018 he added a Congolese-Senegalese duo, SECO.

Tister is a sought-after teacher for dance and percussion workshops.

Tister Ikomo is Mein Gent's movement coach and also performs in the show himself.
